How To Fix A Relationship By Achieving Your Goals

The process of goal-setting isn’t always a simple one. Learning how to fix a relationship must involve three basic ideas upon which your goals will become a reality. Your goals must be Attainable, Reasonable, and Measurable.

Make your goals attainable

If you fail to achieve your goals there’s no point in setting them. Therefore begin listing your goals by making them small and easy. Once you’ve achieved your smaller goals you will become more confident in your ability to achieve greater ones.

Make your goals reasonable

There are many ways how to fix a relationship yet almost all of them involve both partners. When you’re having difficulties in your relationship it’s oftentimes difficult to look outside of yourself and consider the feelings, needs and desires of your partner. Yet learning how to detach yourself from your own emotional drama will give you the space of looking at the situation with more empathy. There’s no way you can save your relationship alone. To achieve your goals you will need to cooperate with your partner. Setting your goals with the only person in mind You will make them Unreasonable. Therefore, try to set only those goals that will be of value to both you and your partner.

Make your goals measurable

Make an evaluation of your goals from time to time. Are there goals that you have already achieved or are there goals that need some more of your attention or a complete change of strategy in order to achieve them? Are there habits that actually hinder the process of attaining of your goals and what techniques do you want to use in order to get rid of those habits? These and many other questions you will have to ask when evaluating your goals.

And last but not least, make time at the end of each week and ask yourself as many questions as possible. For example, if your goal is “To learn to manage my emotions” rate yourself on a scale from 1 to 10 on how successful you were in managing your emotions. Were you anywhere close to achieving your goal? Have you made any progress whatsoever this week? If you feel at this point that some of your goals fail to serve their purpose feel free to modify them. Remember no goal is set in stone. You are the creator of your own life experience therefore you should have complete power over your goals too.
